The line-caught Royal Silver wild salmon is the premium Alaskan wild salmon. It is the strongest and at the same time the most sought-after salmon of all salmon. In the Alaskan summer, it embarks on the long journey through the clear, cold water to the spawning grounds in its home river, signaling the peak of the migration. It covers distances of up to 40 km a day and overcomes waterfalls up to 3.60 m high.

The Youkon Royal wild salmon is line-caught for top quality in the icy waters of the North Pacific off Alaska and is full of vitality due to its time in the ocean. No other wild salmon is treated with more care and attention from catch to delivery than line-caught Royal Silver wild salmon.

The so-called "trollers" are small fishing boats with a one-man or two-man crew who fish with natural or artificial bait attached to fishing hooks. The trollers have to catch their wild salmon individually in the sea, whereas the salmon are netted in whole shoals. Of all the commercial fishing methods, this is the one with the lowest catch rate, but with the highest quality of Youkon Royal Silver wild salmon.

The boat moves as fast as the wild salmon swims. After the wild salmon has bitten into the hook and been pulled to the boat with the line, we let the salmon swim alongside the boat until it has calmed down and the lactic acid has been converted again - this reduces stress for the wild salmon. It is extremely important for the taste to bring the wild salmon gently into the boat.

The salmon oil content is higher in line-caught wild salmon, especially in "omega-3 oils". We want to catch wild salmon that are at the peak of their physical development. This means that buyers get wild salmon that is well-muscled, has the highest levels of omega-3 and other oils and offers a unique taste.

Refined and packaged by hand, finely sliced, this natural delicacy comes straight to your table.

Wild salmon contains 18 to 20 % high-quality proteins, all essential amino acids, vitamins A, B, D and E. Highly unsaturated fatty acids, especially a high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids, niacin, riboflavin, iron, zinc, phosphorus and magnesium. Gram for gram of pure nature!

Fishing Seasons

Since we fish exclusively from sustainable stocks, we are accordingly dependent on the precisely regulated fishing seasons. In order to be able to deliver wild salmon all year round and to comply with the food law, wild fish that are smoked, marinated or consumed as sushi or sashimi must be quick-frozen once to -20°C. This circumstance makes it possible for us to ship the wild salmon, after it has been quick-frozen.

Our smoked items are shipped thawed and have a minimum shelf life of 14-18 days after the thawing process when kept refrigerated (0°C to 4°C). Since we store all of our items in a frozen state, our smoked items can also be delivered to you in a frozen state (-18°C) upon request - if you would like this, please note when placing your order.
