Youkon Wild Lobster is caught in the cold and clean waters of Canada, the Northwest Atlantic. The wild lobster feeds on invertebrates such as small crabs, shrimp, mollusks and sea urchins, which give it its typical color and full flavor.
The Lobster has a very rich diet in the free wild nature of the ocean waters of Canada. Youkon Lobstertails taste pleasantly like the sea and a little like shrimp or crawfish, but with a very unique tang and even more delicate, almost like a hint of sea herbs.
The heraldic animal on the east coast of the province of Nova Scotia, is the lobster. The shellfish is not only available in fine restaurants or delicatessens. Lobsters are on the menu in every restaurant, bar, etc. Artisans on the east coast of Canada eat the fresh lobster tails briefly fried with melted butter as a dip at lunchtime. The quickly available source of protein gives strength for the working day.
The wild lobsters are caught by the Victoria Co-operative Fisheries in Nova Scotia, a community of small fishermen. The catching method is to use wooden or wire baskets, which are set on the seabed with bait. The animals are kept alive in the baskets until the fisherman hauls them in. This catch is selective and therefore has the least impact on the seabed. MSC certified.
